Tay Keith is one of the biggest producers in Hip Hop today, but he still recalls how Drake treated him when he got his first big hit.
In a new episode of Aux Money With Chase B released on Thursday (March 14), the Memphis-bred hitmaker told host Chase B about Drizzy’s fair treatment in the wake of BlocBoy JB’s “Look Alive,” which Drizzy featured on and Tay produced. The song was Tay’s first major hit.
The experience of working with the Toronto rap star “taught me a lot about the business,” the producer said.
“[O]ne thing I always tell people I respect about Drake the most was, he could have been on some shit like, ‘Y’all n-ggas ain’t signed? Alright, I’ll do a song with y’all, but I gotta sign y’all.’
“Drake is the type of n-gga, he don’t want nothing… He gonna give you your fair share. He’s gonna do fair business. It ain’t gonna be no trying to get over on you or nothing, bro.”

More recently, Tay Keith has been working with a different rapper, Key Glock.
In January, the accomplished record producer took to X (formerly Twitter) to graciously acknowledge a fan giving him his flowers, while hinting at what lies ahead.
“You really out here working and been putting in work much success to you,” the user began. “Can’t wait to see Whatchu working on with @KeyGLOCK.”
To which Tay responded: “We got so much unreleased in the vault might drop the project.”
The revelation elicited an enthusiastic response from fans, who flooded the comments section with a plethora of fire emojis expressing their excitement.
Throughout the years, Tay Keith has established himself as the mastermind behind a plethora of chart-topping tracks, with notable contributions to iconic hits such as Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode,” Eminem‘s “Not Alike” and Drake’s “Nonstop.”

In an previous interview with HipHopDX, he explained the importance of paying it forward and putting others on.
“Yeah, that’s real important,” he said. “If you want to be a successful rap artist, you got to have your own city behind you. Just for me, like, working and coming up with BlocBoy JB, Key Glock, Fast Cash Boyz and different artists in Memphis who are coming up right now.”
He continued: “Just keeping the relationship strong with them knowing that I still got respect for my city. That’s a big thing. I feel like a lot of producers who come up, they probably won’t even have that respect out of their own city. I feel like I got a point to prove and I am big on respect.”
