SZA might just kill her ex… On Wednesday night, Apple will release a new episode of their concert series Apple Music Live, and this time SZA is taking the reins from her SOS tour stop in New York City. Rolling Stone has an exclusive preview of her performance of “Kill Bill.”

SZA’s full performance will debut Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET on Apple Music and Apple TV+ and will be available on demand on both Apple Music and Apple TV+.

“SZA is one the most streamed artists of 2023 with only her second full-length album, so we are elated to have her S.O.S Tour be a part of our 2023 season of Apple Music Live,” Apple Music’s Global Head of Hip Hop and R&B Ebro Darden said in a statement. “The show is, of course, incredible just like her music, her songwriting and her desire to give us, the fans, so much amazing content this year.”

SZA spoke to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 about how New York City is often “not a welcoming crowd.”

“[They’re] super boring in the realm of, I don’t know what’s going on, but they’re very likely to deadpan you,” she said. “Night One was probably the worst crowd I’ve had thus far on this leg, and I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ So Night Two, I was at war in my body. It was like, ‘OK, I’m not here to have a good time. I’m here to prove a point.’”

The new performance comes several days after Rolling Stone ranked SOS — featuring songs such as “F2F,” “Seek & Destroy,” and “Snooze” — as the Number One album of 2023. “SZA seamlessly contorts disparate genres around her raw emotion and gifted verbiage with the sense of control she pined for on her first record,” read a review of the LP.

SZA joins a long list of musicians who’ve lent their performance abilities to Apple Music Live this year, including Ed Sheeran, Brent Faiyaz, Burna, Boy, and most recently, Peso Pluma, who closed his first-ever U.S. tour in Anaheim.
