Kong Sothearith, Deputy Director General of the ASEAN Department of the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, and So Sranos, Music Teacher of the Royal University of Fine Arts and Member of the National Representative Committee, attended the 2023 ASEAN-Korea Music Festival Committee Meeting from August 2–5, 2023, in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

Through the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund, KBS will host the ASEAN-Korea Music Festival 2023, or ROUND Festival 2023, which will be held at the Bandung Stadium in Bandung, Indonesia, on October 20–21, 2023.

Sothearith reports that member countries can introduce national youth bands, but only one group can be selected. A national band representing all 10 ASEAN members, except Indonesia and Korea, can prioritize four bands for a 17-group performance at Bandung stadium.

So Sranos, on behalf of the National Committee of the National Assembly, thinks that this is a great opportunity for young bands to strengthen their skills and enhance their talents. By entering the international arena and innovating in the digital age, they can showcase their true talents to the world and other nations.

Youth bands representing each country are selected through a review of technical conditions, ethics, reputation, fame, and popular works during a discussion and consultation meeting between KBS representatives and the National Representative Committee.

However, the band “One Peace Band” has been selected as a band representing Cambodia and has the right to participate in the event, which will be held at the stadium of Bandung (Bandung), Republic of Indonesia in the near future. Fresh News
