Hillary Scott’s family joined her in celebrating a night at the Grand Ole Opry on Monday, when she performed alongside her bandmates Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood of Lady A.

While backstage of the historic Nashville venue, Scott posed with her mom, Linda Davis, her father, Lang Scott, and her younger sister, Rylee Scott, who were all decked out in their holiday best. The family photo was shared to X by the country singer’s Grammy-award-winning recording artist mom.

Her caption read, “Monday night appearance at the @opry with entire Scott Family! @ladya Thank you GOD for my favorite early Christmas present 🎁”

Thanks To Her Mom, Hillary Scott Was Immersed In The Music Business At An Early Age

Music plays a major role in the Scott household. Hillary Scott was what her mom describes as a “studio baby.”

“I was in the vocal booth and she was in there with me. There was this one part of the song that was just eating my lunch. Whatever lyric or musical interval thing that was going on, I was not catching it, so we kept having to redo it. She (Hillary Scott) was sitting on a chair and it got to that part and she started singing it with me, correctly,” Davis said during an appearance on the Got It From My Momma Podcast.

Linda Davis broke onto the scene when she landed her first record deal with CBS/ Epic Records. From there, she earned her first solo chart entry in 1988 and released her debut album, In a Different Light, in 1991.

Linda Davis Appears On Reba McEntire’s Signature Hit, “Does He Love You”

As Davis continued to make waves in the music industry, she caught the attention of fans, industry executives and a very important artist, Reba McEntire. The pair became friends and went on to tour together through the years and eventually found the time to get into the studio. Together, they recorded the duet, “Does He Love You,” which became one of McEntire’s most recognized No. 1 hits to date and earned both artists multiple major music awards including a GRAMMY for Best Country Vocal Collaboration.

The Texas Country Music Hall of Fame member spent her career performing to sold-out crowds with many country music greats including Garth Brooks, George Strait, Reba McEntire and Kenny Rogers.

The Scott Family Joined Forces For A Gospel Album

Then in 2011, the Scott family experienced a tremendous loss with the passing of their grandfather and needed to lean on each other as well as their faith for support through the grieving time. As a result, they found strength in the power of music and came together to release a family gospel album in 2016 titled, Love Remains

Produced by Ricky Skaggs, this 13-track gospel project features an array of family-favorite hymns and was awarded two GRAMMY Awards. Additionally, it topped the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

“We didn’t want to make a sad record,” noted Lang Scott. “You’re always sad when you lose a loved one, but if you have that faith, it gives you hope. It gives you the courage to press on.”

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Davis has proudly passed down the country music torch to her daughter Hillary who continues her successful career and is a mother to her three daughters, Eisele Kaye, Emory JoAnn, and Betsy Mack, and a wife to her husband Chris Tyrrell.

Once again, it appears that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree because as her girls grow older, Scott is starting to see them take an interest in music, especially for their eldest Eisele.

“I think all of our children are showing to have the musicality in them, but I just want to nurture their dream, whatever their dream is,” she told E! News’ Daily Pop .

Ahead of Eisele’s eighth birthday, the “Like A Lady” singer shared with the outlet that the young girl has started to showcase her musical talents through singing and playing the piano. Plus, she’s been keeping a close eye on her mom’s career.

“She’s watching everything I do, everything I say, even the way I stand in photos. I want her to stand confident, like the individual, beautiful spirit that she is,” Scott explained.

The same day Lady A hit the Opry stage, their song “Love You Back” impacted country radio airwaves. Co-written by James McNair, Lindsay Rhimes, and Emily Weisband, the nostalgic tune induces a soulful reflection of the memories of a past love.

This song was released amid Lady A’s busy year of touring, which has officially wrapped up for the year. The group has already booked a few dates throughout 2024, including the Carolina Country Music Fest on June 6 and the Kick’n Up Kountry Music Festival on June 14.
