Big Sean has returned with new solo music for the first time in years, while also teasing a Tiny Desk Concert.

The former G.O.O.D. Music rapper released his new single “Precision” on Friday (March 22), which serves as a triumphant track produced by FNZ, Teddy Walton, Aaron Bow, Tom Kahre and TDE’s Zacari.

Fuck you mean? I’m the generous king for real/ I fuck her to sleep then I light up the street, got her screamin’ like Billie Jean for real/ I’m from the M, I got Ms in the bank and Ms in all my streams for real/ Feelin’ like Phil, they’ll be livin’ like Carlton if I leave ’em in the will,” he raps.

Along with the new song, Big Sean also teased an appearance on NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert series, posting a photo from the session.

The live performance also included Detroit singer Eryn Allen Kane, who recently won a couple of Grammys for her appearance on Killer Mike‘s “Scientists & Engineers” with Future and André 3000.

Big Sean released his last album Detroit 2 in 2020 featuring the likes of Eminem, Lil Wayne, Diddy, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Post Malone and Nipsey Hussle.

The project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with roughly 103,000 total album-equivalent units in its first week.

Sean stated he would be releasing his new album this year in Elliott Wilson’s Instagram comments after he posted a video of him rapping over a J Dilla beat.

“Nah its time for a new album this year fasho,” he wrote in February. “N what u know bout that Dilla beat Elliot?!”

DJ Khaled previously told the world about Big Sean’s new album in January, with the rapper revealing he had “finished” it.

“I ain’t seen my brother in a minute, he been working on — I can tell them you’re working on a new album, right?” Khaled said while sat next to Sean on a video shoot.

Sean replied: “Man, working on it? Finishing it. I’m not working on it. I mean, we really finished it.”

Big Sean talked about the progress of his new project and how much his son motivates his art during an interview with Michigan Chronicle in September.

“I’m writing a book, finishing my album, I’m doing all these things,” he said. “My son definitely motivates me. Whenever I’m making something, I just keep him in mind and that’s good.”

The former G.O.O.D. Music MC described his new music as “fun” and said those who have heard it have compared it to his earlier work.
