YouTube has announced the launch of an innovative incubator program aimed at collaborating with artists and musicians to delve into the realm of artificial intelligence (AI) in music composition. The company’s blogpost on Monday revealed this exciting venture.
Alphabet’s subsidiary, Google (GOOGL.O), has secured Universal Music (UMG.AS) as its inaugural partner for the Incubator initiative. Notably, acclaimed artists such as Anitta, ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus, and Max Ricther also contribute to this pioneering exploration.
In a statement featured in the blogpost, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan expressed the significance of the incubator. “The incubator will help inform YouTube’s approach as we work with some of music’s most innovative artists, songwriters, and producers across the industry.” he states.
Neal Mohan also elaborates on the group’s role in shaping the program’s direction. “The group ‘will help gather insights on generative AI experiments and research that are being developed at YouTube.” showcasing a collective effort to drive AI-powered music innovations. Mohan further reveals YouTube’s intention to expand its partnerships in this endeavor.
