Country singer Willie Nelson will not perform at tonight’s show in Virginia Beach, he announced on his official account on X.
Nelson was supposed to headline the 2024 Outlaw Music Festival Tour in Virginia Beach at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater.
Nelson had previously said that this year’s Outlaw Music Festival Tour “promises to be the biggest and best yet,” and that he was “thrilled to get back on the road again with my family and friends playing the music we love for the fans we love.
However, last week it was revealed that Nelson, 91, was not feeling well.
“We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctor’s orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days,” his X account stated on Friday. “He is expected to make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week.”
But on Wednesday, his official account posted that he would not be performing at the Virginia Beach show.
“We expect Willie to return to the tour shortly,” the account said.
Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss and Celisse will perform as scheduled, Nelson’s account stated. Lukas Nelson and Family and some special guests will play their “own set which will include Willie’s classics and other songs.”
