The Wakefield Music Festival is returning this summer to downtown Wakefield and bringing with it a lineup of local and national acts to entertain the public.
The festival takes place on Saturday, May 25, from 2-10 p.m. at the stage behind Phil’s Main Street Grill at 323-327 Main St. The event will showcase a diverse musical mix of funk, rock, blues, country, and reggae.
“I love bringing people together and shining a spotlight on downtown Wakefield,” said Ken Tetzner, owner of Phil’s and the event organizer in a statement. “We’ve built on every event we’ve done –they’re bigger and better, with different genres of music and different foods. We want to change up the experience every time while always keeping it really fun.”
In addition to the music, there will be a variety of activities for attendees to enjoy, including a bike path, downtown merchants, vendors, and the second RiverFire of the year. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, May 26.
