The classical tradition on Day 2 of the 44th Saptak Classical Music festival  saw Ahmedabad-based sitarist Amita Dalal  introducing raag Amritvarshini on her sitar named Amritvarshini along with first time Saptak performer Manav Nair playing the ghatam, Palani Velu on mridangam and Himanshu Mahant on tabla. The rendition set the tone for another lively performance through Bhuvanesh Komkali’s vocals. The final performance for the evening was electrifying with Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt on Mohan Veena, Salil Bhatt on Satvik Veena and Ramkumar Mishra on tabla.  The trio offered a feast to listeners with their  jugalbandi and high-energy performances. The father-son duo offered an energetic and rhythmic show of their respective instruments occasionally giving a glimpse of a rarely-seen energy sprinkled with anecdotes and humour. The audience, like most years, included seasoned listeners as also NRIs and a sizeable number of Gen-next music lovers.
