PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM) – It’s time for the music and mudbugs to roll into the Hub City for the 25th annual Downtown Crawfish Jam (DCJ) Music Festival.

The annual event will be on Saturday, April 20, at the historic Walthall Park. It is one of several popular, family-friendly events hosted by the Hattiesburg Historic Neighborhood Association (HHNA) and the largest fundraiser for the Walthall Foundation.

Tickets for the festival include all-you-can-eat crawfish, all-you-can-drink beer or Coke products, burgers, sausage dogs and hot dogs. A valid I.D. is required at the gate to receive the “all-you-can-drink beer wristband,” and all-you-can-eat crawfish is only guaranteed until 1 p.m.

The festival will also feature musical acts from Jacob Arnold and the Birddogs, Curley Taylor and Zydeco Trouble, Mississippi Shakedown and Taste of 59 South.

Tickets are available online at dcjhburg.com and the following local vendors:

  • T-Bones Records (2101 Hardy Street)
  • Signs First (4400 Hardy Street)
  • Twin Forks Wine & Provisions (Hemphill Dr.)

Advanced Tickets cost $50 for guests over 21 and $40 for those under 21. Kids 12 and under are free!

While he can’t predict the wealth, DCJ Chairman Brian Saffle said he hopes for sunny skies.

“We are expecting a large crowd this year, so we are making every effort to make sure our guests enjoy the day,” said Saffle. “Rain or shine, the event will happen, but we are all praying for a beautiful spring day.”

Saffle added that guests should be aware that there is limited parking on the neighborhood streets and that additional parking will be available at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Guests should note that pets, tents and coolers will not be allowed this year.

Proceeds from the Festival are reinvested in the community through the HHNA and Walthall Foundation. They provide support for projects and events in the Downtown Hattiesburg area, including Historic Preservation Projects and upkeep of the Walthall property.
