The Park City Chamber Music Society’s Beethoven Festival presented a very successful 40th anniversary summer in 2023, thanks in no small part to the volunteers, board members, helpers, musicians, donors and audience who all gathered to make our 40th anniversary season a tremendous success.

Mountain Town Music is owed a special mention. For the past 13 years, they have promoted the Festival’s Monday evenings in the park, free to the public, with great success.

Despite the sudden and sad loss of the festival founder and director, Leslie Blackburn Harlow, in February, the festival board and staff carried on to make our 40th landmark season one of the best in memory and we look forward to continuing the festival’s tradition of presenting great chamber music to Utah audiences for generations to come.

Special thanks are due Randy Barton, who jumped in to make sure the festival was fully funded by writing the 2023 RAP tax grant for us and looking for other ways to honor Leslie and her work throughout the community.

Festival volunteers Kerrin Antonson, Rhea Bouman, Nikei Kai Bowen, Joan Entwistle, Cheryl Hoffmann, Deborah Hsu and Erin Riggs played a major role in assuring the festival ran smoothly, the audience was greeted graciously, and that refreshments were available at the intermissions.

We wish to thank the festival board of directors for all of their work past and future to ensure that the testival will continue with many wonderful concerts now and into the future.

Visit the Park City Chamber Music Society website at beethovenfestivalparkcity.com to see upcoming events, board members, and our 112 online concerts available to listen to free of charge at any time.

Last but not least, our thanks go to Scott Iwasaki and The Park Record newspaper for their wonderful coverage of our events and the staff and board of the Park City Community Church with a special thank you to Rev. Elizabeth McVicker and office coordinator Kate Campbell for their invaluable kindness and help in making the 2023 summer concerts enjoyable and rewarding for the Park City community.
