Skepta has announced Big Smoke Festival, a one-day music event heading to Crystal Palace Park on Saturday, July 6, 2024.

The Mercury Prize winner will curate two stages at the south east London venue, bringing a star-studded multi-genre lineup of global artists alongside his own live set.

Crystal Palace Park is one of London’s original outdoor concert venues, with previous performers including The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley and Pink Floyd.

Más Tiempo, Skepta’s new label, is set to host one of the stages showcasing the best live acts in dance, promising an unforgettable experience.

The festival will be the only opportunity to see Skepta perform in the UK in 2024.

Skepta made the announcement on Instagram Live and said: “I’m gassed to finally announce that Big Smoke Festival is official.

“I’m so excited, it’s been a wild one to do this. I just want to say thank you to all the supporters, it’s been a couple years that you didn’t see me on a stage.

“I know a lot of people have been wondering when they’ll see Skepta at a festival and I really wanted to save all that energy and put it into something that was for us, by us.

“There’s going to be a live stage all your favourite acts – anyone you know that’s affiliated with Skepta. There’ll be a live stage on one side and the Más Tiempo stage which will also be a full lineup.

“I might bust up one stage, fly over to the other one and link with Jammer. It’s gonna be crazy.”

Skepta, award winning MC, producer, designer, director, and founding member of seminal British grime collective Boy Better Know, unveiled his new label Más Tiempo in August 2022.

Last month, he paid homage to Amy Winehouse with the track Can’t Play Myself (A Tribute To Amy).

Firmly rooted in the values of the UK’s thriving dance music community, Skepta and Más Tiempo were the first to sell out new warehouse venue Drumsheds, in advance of the show.

Now returning to rap, Skepta has recently released his new project 48 Hours prior to Big Smoke Festival, which will be the only place to see Skepta perform in the UK in 2024.
