SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — The City of Sherman hosted its first Crossroads Music Festival at Pecan Grove Park on Saturday evening.

Music fans were eager to see headliner Stoney LaRue.

“I’ve been waiting for him to come to Sherman,” said one.

Gates opened at 4 p.m., and fans lined the lawn with chairs. Other performers included Autumn Ragland, Don Stalling and the Divided along with Jared Mitchell Band.

For concert-goer Shannon Doggett, seeing Stoney LaRue in her home town was on the top of her bucket list.

“I brought my daughter; I’ve been making her listen to him her whole life, and this is the first time I’ve been able to bring her to see him,” she said.

Although charging admission is uncommon in Sherman, it’s safe to say the festival was worth it, and fans said they were eager to see the festival grow in the future.
