THIS MORNING – SOME YOUNG SAVANNAH STUDENTS WERE TREATED TO A SPECIAL CONCERT. TAKE A LISTEN. <> (4S…) SAVANNAH BLUES MUSICIAN ERIC CULBERSON WAS ONE OF THE ARTISTS WHO PERFORMED THIS MORNING. IT HAPPENED AT THE TRUSTEES THEATER… THE CONCERT WAS FOR KINDERGARTNERS THROUGH SECOND GRADE STUDENTS. THIS WAS ALL A PART OF THE SAVANNAH MUSIC FESTIVAL’S MUSIC EXPLORERS PROGRAM… WHERE STUDENTS LEARN DIFFERENT GENRES OF MUSIC IN THE CLASSROOM DURING EACH SEMESTER OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. <> “WHAT WE’RE SEEING TODAY IS A CULMINATING EVENT FOR THE SEMESTER, SO KIDS HAVE BEEN LEARNING ABOUT KLEZMER AND EUROPEAN DANCE AND PARTY MUSIC, THEY’VE BEEN LEARNING ABOUT MUSICAL THEATER, THEY’VE BEEN LEARNING ABOUT THE BLUES.” THESE CONCERTS WILL

Savannah Music Festival puts on Music Explorers concert

More than 8,000 K-2 students will get to enjoy live music.

Some young students are treated to a special concert.Savannah Blues musician Eric Culberson was just one of the artists performing Wednesday morning at the Trustees Theater for kindergartners through second grade students.It’s all part of the Savannah Music Festival’s Music Explorers program, where those students learn different genres of music in the classroom during each semester of the school year.“What we’re seeing today is a culminating event for the semester,” Jenny Woodruff, senior director of community impact for the Savannah Music Festival, said. “So kids have been learning about Klezmer and European dance and party music, they’ve been learning about musical theater, they’ve been learning about the blues.”These concerts will continue with two each day through Friday, with more than 8,000 students scheduled to attend during the three days.
