The SAMMYS Board is inviting Central New York artists to submit their music for the 2024 Syracuse Area Music Awards.
The 2024 SAMMYS (Syracuse Area Music Awards) will take place Friday, March 8, at the Palace Theatre in Eastwood. The ceremony will feature musical performances by area artists and awards presented in 12 categories, plus the People’s Choice awards in four categories, the Brian Bourke Award for Best New Artist, Jack O Bocchino Spirit of the Sammys Award, and the Community Spirit Award.
Artists can submit their recordings online at syracuseareamusic.com/submissions. Each artist must select one category they wish to be judged in; only commercially released albums or EPs, released between January 1 – December 31, 2023 by artists in the CNY area, are eligible. All entries must be available on Apple Music, Spotify or Tidal. No physical recordings will be accepted.
Entries must be submitted by Jan. 5, 2024.
The public can also get in on the fun by nominating local artists for the 2024 SAMMYS People’s Choice awards starting Jan. 1, 2024, at syracuseareamusic.com/peopleschoice. Anyone can nominate their favorite artist or band, event or music series, academic or musical organization, and favorite venue to see live music. Voting for SAMMYS People’s Choice awards will begin at a later date.
The Syracuse Area Music Awards will also induct new hall of fame members at the SAMMYs Hall of Fame Dinner on Thursday, March 7, Upstairs at the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que restaurant. 2024 inductees have not been announced yet.
