Florida, Miami –

Rick Ross has shouted out Kanye West for his contributions to the fashion world while reflecting on the impact of the mogul’s first blockbuster in the footwear circuit a decade ago.

On Sunday (February 18), Rozay attended a sneaker convention organized by Got Sole in Miami, Florida. During the event, he was asked about Ye’s Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red October” shoes, which were released back in 2014.

“This shit right here was revolutionary,” he said while holding up a pair. “Well, you know, these joints — the grey ones with the […] guava, the pink or whatever you want to call them — they were just … I had ’em, I wore ’em every day.

“You realize how genius the artwork was after the fact. Y’know that was the time Kanye was at Def Jam, I was at Def Jam.”

Just last month, the Maybach Music Group boss flexed his collection of Louis Vuitton sneakers in an apparent attempt to rival Kanye West’s “Louis Vuitton Don” title.

The 48-year-old MC took to his Instagram Stories in early January to showcase a section of his private closet that was organized to show off his extensive collection of LV sneakers.

With his girlfriend Cristina Mackey choreographing the recording, the “Hustlin’” hitmaker gave fans and followers a look inside his shoe “vault,” which included rows and rows of footwear in a range of different colors.

“Ah man, the Louis Vuitton vault,” he said, mispronouncing the brand name presumably on purpose. “You see the artwork.”

“You skipped a level, go up some,” his partner chimed in, making sure that he was able to show off all his items.

The rapper and businessman then continued: “It’s the Ricky Rozay Louis Vuitton vault. Oh yeah, it does spill over a little more too, but we ain’t even tripping. We just gon’ focus on this. I love you, baby.”
