Programme on Indian music organized at LKRB state college of Music auditorium

GUWAHATI: A two-hour classical music concert, ‘Jalsa’ was organized by Pratishruti Foundation in association with the LKRB state college of music, Government of Assam on Friday at the LKRB state college of Music auditorium.

In the welcome speech, the President of Pratishruti Foundation, Siddhartha Das, spoke about the vision of the organization as well as the purpose of Jalsa. The well-known Tabla player of Assam, Pandit Sukumar Barthakur, also emphasized the importance of organizing the music programme. The programme on classical music started with a Borgeet by the students of the LKRB state college of Music, followed by a classical Vocal solo on Rag Jog by Nayani Mahanta of North Lakhimpur, a tabla solo by upcoming young artist Anirban Guha, a sitar recital by Prof. Anand Dikshit of LKRB, and a well-accompanied tabla recital by Subrata Chakrabarty and Rupankar Sarma. The programme was anchored by Soheni Bhattacharya, while Ustad Julfikar Hussain delivered the vote of thanks, stated a press release.
