NewJeans, BTS Jungkook, More Win Trophies at 2023 Billboard Music Awards

The 2023 Billboard Music Awards officially announced the winners for its K-pop categories.

2023 Billboard Music Awards Reveals Winners for K-pop Categories: NewJeans, BTS Jungkook, More Take Home Trophies!

Congratulations to all the artists who won awards!

On November 19, the 2023 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) was held and many global artists from the music industry won trophies from the event. For the first time, the Billboard Music Awards added four new categories solely for K-pop.

These are the Top Global K-pop Artist, Top K-pop Album, Top K-pop Global K-pop Song, and Top K-pop Touring Artist.

The winners were determined by analyzing each artist’s performance on the year-end Billboard charts and were covered from November 4, 2022, to October 12, 2023, giving enough time to decide the winning artists.

For the Top Global K-pop Artist award, NewJeans took the prize home and delivered a speech to express their gratitude. Hyein thanked everyone for winning the group the award, followed by Hanni and Minji, who both conveyed their thanks to Billboard Music Awards and Bunnies.

Meanwhile, Stray Kids claimed the award for Top K-pop Album for their album “★★★★★ (5-STAR).” Leader Bang Chan stepped up for the group’s speech and stated his gratitude to STAYs, who have supported them unconditionally along the way.

Jungkook secured the Top Global K-pop Song with his debut single “Seven” (feat. Latto). The BTS maknae also shared his acceptance speech, which contained his gratitude towards loving fandom ARMYs.

Lastly, BLACKPINK won the award for Top K-pop Touring Artist due to their historic “BORN PINK” world tour across the globe.

Fans congratulated all four artists for their wins across social media and their videos.

•  “I have no words to describe how proud I am of our girls, they are true stars, the stage is shaking, we know that NewJeans is here to make history.”
•  “Congratulations Stray Kids for winning the award, and your self-produced music ‘5-STAR’ is such a great album.”
•  “Congrats my dear Jungkook! I never doubted you, and you’re amazing! I am so proud of you!”
