Sarungano’s musical journey began in 2017 with his debut album, Mbuya ndoenda.

MUSICIAN Sarungano, who recently released his fourth studio album, reflects on his musical journey as one marked by continuous growth and evolution.

The album, titled Unity, features six tracks that explore themes of unity, healing, and bridging divides.

Sarungano’s musical journey began in 2017 with his debut album, Mbuya ndoenda.  He has since released two more albums, Mafuta (2019) and Nevanji The Prince (2022). Unity marks his fourth studio album, showcasing his artistic growth and refinement over the years.

“I have worked on four albums so far, and I have seen my craft develop and evolve,” Sarungano remarked. “Growth is a daily process. Albums can be milestones, but we grow every day, not just on the album release.” He said.

Sarungano emphasised the significance of daily growth in an artiste’s journey. He acknowledged the impact of every listener, every stream, every DJ’s support, and every social media mention.

“Each of these interactions contributes to our growth,” he stated. “We are grateful for all that.”

The album Unity reflects Sarungano’s desire to promote unity, healing, and social harmony. He envisions the album as a bridge that connects people and fosters understanding.

“I wanted to create a project that would build bridges to heal society and move towards removing animosity among different sections of society,” Sarungano explained.

Collaboration played a crucial role in the creation of Unity. Sarungano worked with six producers, each bringing their unique style and expertise to the project.

“Working with different producers on the album was a learning curve,” Sarungano admitted. “Each producer has their own style of work, and we learn and grow from the interaction.”

Sarungano plans to release visuals for each of the six tracks on a weekly basis. Additionally, he has lined up a tour of Zimbabwe and Europe to promote the album and connect with his fans.
