The inaugural event, hosted in 2021, planted its roots between the cracks of a COVID-19 lockdown; in 2022 the festival sidestepped the swills of flooding; and this year the team of volunteers is channelling the same determination to continue to put on another successful show.

“Coming into the third year, we wanted (the event) to be different,” festival director Adam Palmer said.

“We were fortunate enough to be shortlisted for funding through Music Victoria and the Victorian Government.

“In the application to get some funding, the idea was pitched to have not one stage but multiple stages — three stages at three ancient, iconic building venues to host punters and artists alike.”

Mr Palmer said the festival received “a million bucks for music” to mount a signature line-up hosted by popular destinations Northern Republic, Butter Factory and Sevens Creek Hotel on Saturday, October 21.

Sixteen acts will grace the stage and bless the eardrums, including New Zealand band Soaked Oats, rising to prominence in the indie-rock space; local legends Bad Ibis; and Vaudeville Smash returning for their third consecutive year.

As the performances’ melodies dance their way throughout the town, so too can attendees along the formerly flooded creek that connects the three venues, hence the name of the 2023 festival, “Flow”.

Flood-recovering locals wrestling with the rising cost of living will be elated to know festival organisers have been able to ensure subsidised ticket prices for Strathbogie Shire and adjoining areas, including Shepparton, Benalla and Mansfield, due to this year’s financial support.

“We wouldn’t be around without the support of the community, and that includes revenue from the state government, local sponsorship and, of course, ticket sales,” Mr Palmer said.

Euroa Music Festival will be on Saturday, October 21.
