MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – A festival that revolves around Midwest music and breakfast food is back for its fourth year in Minot.
The Independent Music Festival is an all-weekend event featuring musicians from in and out of state.
The event’s theme changes each year.
Last year, it was Second Breakfast, a Lord of the Rings reference.
This year’s theme is BookFest, so organizers with Prairie Sky Breads are partnering with Main Street Books.
Solo artist and bakery manager Zachary Schuller said the festival is built from the passion of what musicians create.
“There’s not a lot of places in Minot for queer people to go out. DIY Music Festivals are the prime place for that. So, it’s really great to support it from that angle,” said Schuller.
The event kicks off Thursday at Blue Rider in Minot at 6 p.m.
The rest of the festival will be held downtown at Prairie Sky Breads.
Admission is $10-$20 at the door.
You can visit Prairie Sky Breads’ Facebook page for more information.
