SYLVANIA, Ohio — While it may still be winter, a popular community festival is accepting applications to fill the streets with art, music and more in spring.
Over 60 artists, several bands, food trucks and a variety of activities will return to Sylvania for the “Maple & Main Art and Music Festival” in June.
The free event began in 2011 and has drawn more than 5,000 people each year to downtown Sylvania the weekend after Memorial Day, according to the festival’s website.
The art show and sale are juried, and the application deadline is April 23. On average, 80 applications are submitted each year with an average of 65 artists selected to participate. Prizes will be awarded by the jury.
To apply for the art show and sale, visit the Maple & Main Art and Music Festival application at this link. There is a $25 entry fee for the jury and $225 if selected for a booth.
Musicians are also invited to apply for Maple & Main at this link.
In addition to arts and music, the festival will feature food vendors. The fee for food vendors varies from $200-235 based on location and size and the application is available at this link.
Maple & Main will take place on June 1 from 11 a.m.-10 p.m., and on June 2 from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m., in the Red Birds Arts District in downtown Sylvania. The event is free for attendees.
