On January 27 and 28, 2024, Lollapalooza will return to Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse for a second time. Tickets will go on sale beginning on August 23, a little over six months after the conclusion of their first Indian edition, which was also their first outing in Asia.

The announcement is accompanied by the tagline that Lollapalooza India 2024 is expected to be “twice as epic.”

Arena-rockers Imagine Dragons, rock legends The Strokes, Hong Kong singer-rapper Jackson Wang, dream-pop band Cigarettes After Sex, Punjabi sensation AP Dhillon, rockers Greta Van Fleet, and electronic musicians Madeon and super producer Diplo were among the headliners of the 2023 edition.

Even though fans had initially anticipated even bigger, more well-known rock legacy acts to be on the lineup, the festival undoubtedly attracted a lot of attention.

Although the lineup and other information have not yet been released, there will be an exclusive pre-sale for those who use RuPay credit cards beginning on August 23 and another pre-sale for BookMyShow customers and festival “loyalists” beginning on August 25. General ticket sales for Lollapalooza India 2024 begin on August 27. General admission tickets cost ₹6,999, Lolla Lounge tickets are ₹14,999, and NEXA Lounge tickets are priced at ₹44,999.

Freedom Sale

Twenty per cent of the audiences at the first Lollapalooza India were Gen-Z, according to recently released data from BookMyShow, and 35 per cent of attendees came from outside Mumbai.

The two-day festival continued to be a huge endeavour for India’s BookMyShow Live producers.

For those looking forward to the nation’s music festival season, many major music events are yet to announce their dates. The Ziro Festival of Music has yet to reveal their lineup, and the dates for the Bacardi NH7 Weekender have not been released. However, Magnetic Fields Festival in Rajasthan has announced their dates and tickets — which are almost sold out. Meanwhile, events like Echoes of Earth in Bengaluru are scheduled for December 2 and 3.

Along with global producers Perry Farrell (from the rock band Jane’s Addiction) and C3 Presents, BookMyShow Live, the live entertainment experiential division of BookMyShow, India’s top entertainment destination, will be Lollapalooza India’s festival promoter and co-producer.

Berlin (September 9 and 10, 2023), Chile and Argentina (both taking place from March 15 to 17, 2024), and Brazil (March 22 to 24) are the next international Lollapalooza events.
