After nearly two months of speculation surrounding her alleged death, 14-year-old rapper and internet personality, Lil Tay, has made her return to the music scene. On Saturday, September 30, she released a music video for her latest song, “Sucker 4 Green,” showcasing her lavish lifestyle and love for money.
Lil Tay took to Instagram to announce her comeback, captioning the video with, “IM BACK. YALL B—-ES THOUGHT THE SHOW WAS OVER.” The video features the young rapper dancing in tantalizing outfits on the balconies of a luxurious mansion and inside a garage filled with expensive cars. Towards the end of the video, Lil Tay is seen throwing cash into the air, joined by her mother, Angela Tian, and older brother, Jason Tian.
Before releasing the music video, Lil Tay addressed the rumors surrounding her fake death in an Instagram Live session. In early August, news of her alleged passing spread like wildfire through a statement posted on her Instagram account, describing it as “sudden and tragic.” However, the following day, Lil Tay spoke out, asserting that her account had been hacked by a third party who spread false information and rumors.
During the Instagram Live session on Saturday, Lil Tay showcased her impressive piano and guitar skills, playing cover versions of the Eagles’ “Hotel California” and Metallica’s “Master of Puppets.” She also criticized the media for their lack of fact-checking when reporting on her fake death, stating, “This proves how much the press did not give a f— about facts. They cared about slandering my name. They did not do any fact-checking.”
Lil Tay went on to accuse her father, Chris Hope, of orchestrating the social media death hoax. According to her, he collaborated with another individual claiming to be her manager, in order to promote a crypto coin using the fake death as a marketing strategy. She further accused her father and stepmother of subjecting her to physical and mental abuse.
However, her father, Hope, denied all accusations, claiming that they were “100% false” in a statement made to TMZ. He insisted that anyone who knows him or is aware of the history of absurd and untrue statements made by those controlling Lil Tay’s Instagram account would understand the falseness of the allegations.
Lil Tay’s music comeback with the release of the “Sucker 4 Green” music video marks her return to the spotlight after a period of controversy and speculation surrounding her alleged death. Fans can watch her Instagram Live session and the music video on her official accounts.
