Kashmiri Sufi and Folk Music festival titled ‘Shashrang’ was organised by Kashmir Music Club at Tagore Hall in Srinagar. It was organised in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL). The main purpose was to revive the sufiyana, classical, folk, and overall cultural and traditional musical activities and to educate the young generation regarding the rich poetry of Kashmir. A large number of people including poets, writers, locals, and students were present at the festival. Notably, the present generation is not fully aware about the importance of centuries-old rich Kashmiri Sufi or folk music which always unites people and provides them peace of mind. So such types of festivals will definitely help to promote the Kashmiri music which belongs to our Kashmir past.
