By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 19: The ‘Jeevanta Nepal Music Award’ is set to return with its second edition this year. Organised by the Agleshwori Hills Development Trust, the award hopes to attract tourists to the Agleshwori, Sailung and Khandadevi regions of Ramechhap district.

The award aims to honour individuals creating exceptional music in the modern, folk, pop, folk duet, Ghazal and other genres. It also wishes to promoter and encourage the work of singers, composers, lyricists, music coordinators, instrumentalists, music video directors, cinematographers, editors, choreographers, models, dress designers and makeup artists, the organisers informed.

At a press conference held in the capital Kathmandu on Thursday, Kumar Karki, coordinator for the award and president of the Ramechhap Artistes’ Society, said that applications for the award had been opened and people wishing to be considered for nomination could apply within the next 15 days.

Forms are available on Agleshwori’s website and Facebook page, and can also be collected from their office at New Baneshwor, Kathmandu.

The organisers also shared that they hoped to erect the world’s tallest Buddha statue at Agleshwori Hills at the intersection of the Khandadevi, Sunapati and Doramba rural municipalities in collaboration with the three local levels.
