South Africans came in numbers on X (the social media formally known as Twitter) to ask Dr Malinga – Goodwill Malinga to stop making music – this comes after the musician posted a video of himself singing along to his latest song title Asilali as seen in the X video posted on Wednesday, 22 November.

‘IT’S OVER NOW’: SA ON DR MALINGAS MUSIC CAREER

It appears South Africans are on their way to cancel Dr Malinga. The once beloved musician with the iconic kick dance moves has made several hits in his time including Petronella which he released in 2016, Angilalanga Izolo which was released in 2017, and more. At a point in his career, it seemed he was on the rise to something great.

However, it seems fans are tired of Malinga as they have recently urged him to hang up the mic. This follows him posting a video, promoting his new song in a rather cringe-worthy attempt. This is not the first time Mzansi has called for Dr Malinga to turn his back on his music career. According to iHarare, in 2019, netizens urged him to look for a normal job after he embarrassed himself in a dancing video.

According to the publication, fans had voiced that they no longer found his famous kicks to be entertaining and found his dance moves to be old fashion. In the same year, Dr Malinga had also revealed his downfall when he broke down during an episode on MacG’s Podacast & Chill and revealed that he was experiencing financial problems following the pandemic.

The 43-year-old musician had revealed that he had been contacted by SARS and told that he owed them money. Fortunately, through the help of supportive fans and celebrities at the time, he managed to receive donations to assist him in the sticky situation.
