Calling all bands and creators from across Canada: Submissions are open for Canada’s most anticipated three-day outdoor underground emerging music and arts festival

Gussapolooza Music Festival is delighted to announce that submissions are now open for what has evolved into Canada’s most anticipated outdoor three-day emerging music showcase and arts festival!

Every year, the festival spotlights the best-rising stars across the music and arts landscape, bringing together a unique and highly determined gathering of musical & artistic creators. Submissions are now open. We’re calling out to talented artists of all genres to be part of the excitement in the charming town of Cookstown, Ontario, from Sept. 13-15, 2024. If you submit your work, you could be one of the chosen few to perform in front of fresh fans, impress industry professionals, and compete for a coveted festival award.

Now in its seventh year, the festival has solidified its position as the must-attend event for motivated underground bands looking to expand their horizons and network with other entertainment industry professionals.

The festival not only promotes emerging music but also shines a spotlight on filmmakers, visual artists, and creative entrepreneurs of all kinds through film contests and the creators’ convention. In doing so, the festival aims to connect Canada’s underground creators and ignite a powerful movement of creation and artistic expression that may reveal the next big names in the world.

“Our festival has a purpose,” says Russell Robson, founder, and main organizer. “And that purpose is to create opportunities for emerging artists, connect music and art lovers, and strengthen our underground entertainment economy.”

“The festival invites all serious music makers who are looking to make a name for themselves to submit their music through our website for free,” says Valerie Robson, co-organizer, and manager. “Not only musicians, but artists, filmmakers, and creative entrepreneurs of all kinds can submit to come showcase their brands and network as well. Even if your band doesn’t get to play this year, you should still be here to take advantage of all the amazing things we offer. That’s why we give special discounts to bands who submit.”

The festival recently announced its top 3 awardees from this year who will be invited back to headline the 2024 event. Fortunate Losers took home the award for the Best Emerging Band of the Year, followed by Cigar Club for Fan Favorite, and The Blues Emergency received the Rising Sun Award.
