GUILDERLAND — One party-goer was stabbed and another was shot, police say, at a music festival in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

A release from the Guilderland Police say events unfolded this way:

Guilderland Police responded at 1:49 a.m. on Oct. 20 to a report of a stabbing at 5777 Depot Road and found a 23-year-old from Rome had been stabbed in the head.

About 17 minutes later, officers already on the scene heard gunshots and found a 21-year-old man from Brooklyn had been shot in the shoulder.

Both victims were treated on the scene to Guilderland Emergency Medical Services and transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

Neighbors on social media posted about a “huge party” and “all of the sirens … after 1 a.m.”

“Due to both the size of the crowd and the circumstances surrounding these incidents, mutual aid had been requested,” the release said. “The event was promptly cleared and the Guilderland Police Department is continuing their investigation surrounding both incidents.”

No suspects are in custody, the Sunday release said, adding, “Both incidents are considered to be isolated to this event and there is no reason to believe that there is risk to the safety of our community.”

Anyone with information for the ongoing investigation is urged to call the department’s Criminal Investigation Unit at 518-356-1501.
