Mountain View hears talk on sex trafficking

Sean Wheeler, survivor, leader and founder of Starfish Ministries, gave a heartfelt presentation on a voice for boys in the fight against sex trafficking on Aug. 1 at the New Life Center at Mountain View Presbyterian Church (MVPC) in Loveland. The talk was sponsored by Presbyterian Women (PW) at MVPC.

The mission of Starfish Ministries is to “fight child sex trafficking in the US and abroad by providing a voice for boys in the arena of public discussion.” The organization empowers male survivors of trafficking through faith and community.

Wheeler shared that child sexual abuse material and human trafficking is estimated to be a $150 billion business globally and about $50 billion annually in the United States. His message was “every child deserves to be innocent” and he urged parents to “sit with your child in the light, or others will sit with them in the dark.”
