Music lovers and supporters of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette School of Music welcomed the holiday season with Music and Merriment 2023. The annual party was held at the home of UL President Dr. Joseph Savoie on Dec. 2.
The Savoie home was decorated in beautiful holiday red, gold and silver, with poinsettias and a fabulous Christmas tree to welcome guests. The UL Chamber Singers provided the evening’s entertainment with several choral pieces that have earned them top awards in numerous choral competitions.
The group is known both nationally and internationally for its performances under the direction of Dr. William Plummer, Associate Director of the School of Music.
This gathering of friends who share the love of music and support the university is always a special event. In today’s hectic world, it is hard to find a quiet spot where you can enjoy the sounds and sights of the season with a sense of calm. This gathering is both merry and musical but most of all, it is a beautiful way to say peace on earth to your fellow beings. We wish our Friends of Music a very Merry Christmas and thank you for spreading the joy of music.
