Electric Zoo, a music festival in New York City, ended in chaos on Sunday when the event reached capacity and festivalgoers began running through the gates to get in.
Social media captured the crowd running past the security guards after it was announced that they could not allow more people on site.

“They are just storming! Oh my God! They’re just storming! I guess they can’t do anything. They are going to shut it down. This is insane,” two onlookers said as they watched the gates being overtaken by music fans.

The Electric Zoo festival notified potential attendees on Sunday night that it would not admit more people due to capacity.
“For the safety and well-being of everyone on site, we will not be admitting any additional attendees today. If you are on your way or were planning to come later, we kindly ask that you refrain from coming to the festival site,” the event organizer said on social media.

The concert already had setbacks this year when the first day of the festival could not go on due to “supply chain disruptions.” On the second day, the festival began two hours late, and the final day of the festival was thrown into chaos when the gates were stormed.
The festival was established in 2009 and annually holds the festival in Randall’s Island Park, which is between the boroughs of Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx in New York City.
