For almost two decades, rock fans haven’t had the chance to experience this iconic band at an annual beloved music festival in Austin, Texas
The Strokes fans are beyond excited for the legendary rock band’s upcoming performance since it’ll be the first in many years.
For 15 years, The Strokes have been absent from the line-up of Austin City Limits Music Festival, an annual music concert in Austin, Texas. However, the rock group announced on X(formerly Twitter) that they’d be returning to the festival slated for October 2025. “It’s been a minute Austin… @aclfestival this October,” the official Strokes X account wrote on the social media platform, including a flyer for the event in the post.
Several took to X to express how stoked they were for The Strokes to be coming back to the Austin City Limits Music Festival after almost two decades.

“THE STROKES ARE BACK?? prayed for times like these,” one X user wrote, and another added, “GOD IS GREAT I SEE THE STROKES AGAIN IN THE YEAR 2025.”
A third person commented, “The Strokes getting back together to play a show in my state iktr.”
Some even revealed that The Strokes would be the reason they’d consider attending the music festival this year.
“40 year old me says don’t go to ACL this year. It’ll be hot. We have drinks and chairs at home,” one X user shared.
“22 year old me says ok boomer, get off the couch and go see The Strokes. you can sit down when you’re dead which at 40 is like next year. Live while you can,” the commenter continued.
“Empire of the Sun, Passion Pit, Cage the Elephant, Modest Mouse, THE STROKES?? This is my 2011 indie Tumblr-core dream. I have to go to ACL,” one other person asserted.
Meanwhile, someone else mentioned, “This years ACL line up might be the best so nostalgic with passion pit and The Strokes.”
The Strokes coming back to the Austin City Limits Music Festival is a major deal since they haven’t headlined the event since 2015.
Other music stars headlining the Austin City Limits Music Festival in addition to The Strokes are, Sabrina Carpenter, Hozier, Doja Cat, Luke Combs, John Summit, Doechii, Feid, and Cage the Elephant.
