Tampa, Florida –

Drake has once again gone viral for his unorthodox appearance, this time during the opening night of his joint tour with J. Cole.

On Friday (February 2), Drizzy took the stage at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida for the first show of his It’s All a Blur — Big As the What? Tour. It wasn’t long before fans noticed that he had on what appeared to be a dinosaur spine outfit, prompting a range of reactions online.

“These stylist be in group chats like ‘watch what I put on this fool tonight,’” one person commented under a Complex post of the performance, while another added: “Why this man Drake wearing a velociraptor spinal cord.”

A third social media user replied: “This is what happens when you surround yourself with people who don’t tell you ‘no.’”

Soon after the show, Drizzy took to his Instagram Stories and shared an image of Japanese artist Shimoda Masakatsu wearing the item, making it clear who likely created the costume. Masakatsu is famous for his dinosaur head and skeleton pieces, which he has done in collaboration with Comme des Garçons.

Masakatsu shared an Instagram post of Drake wearing the outfit, which you can see below. He captioned it, in Japanese, “How cool is this?” The artist also posted another image from the concert.

Earlier this month, Drake and J. Cole announced that their joint tour would be pushed back two weeks. The trek, which was originally supposed to kick off on January 18, was postponed to February 2.

Produced by Live Nation and sponsored by Cash App and Visa, the concert series was first announced in November. Though the current run only covers North America, there has also been some talk about a European leg.

During a Kick stream with Roshtein in December, the Canadian superstar revealed plans of extending his live act across the pond.

“I think I’m going to tour in Europe,” he told the host, before clarifying it with more certainty. “Oh, that’s maybe an exclusive — yeah, oh, I’m definitely going on a Europe tour next year … we obviously have a tour coming up [in] January …”

The United States and Canada dates are now officially underway and expected to conclude on April 16 in Denver, Colorado.
