Drake has further cemented his bromance with J. Cole by expressing his admiration for his rap peer on his special day.

On Monday (January 29), the 6 God took to his Instagram Stories where he wished Cole a happy birthday and thanked him for being a continued source of “inspiration.”

The post featured a black-and-white snapshot of the Dreamville leader looking off into the distance with his arms crossed and a mic in hand.

“More life my brother thank you for the years of inspiration,” Drake wrote while tagging Cole, who turned 39 on Sunday (January 28).

That same day, Drizzy also extended birthday wishes to his biggest fan, his mother Sandi Graham, who celebrated turning 64 on Sunday.

“More & more & more & more life…76 like Joel things turned out so well I bet they wish it all took a turn for the worst but oh well,” he wrote alongside a photo of him and his mom.

Drake has always made it a point to show J. Cole love, and the Canadian rapper did just that during his It’s All A Blur Tour stop in Montreal last summer.

“[He’s] one of the greatest rappers to ever touch a microphone,” he told the crowd as the Fayetteville MC stormed the stage to perform a string of his classics. “I hope you enjoy yourself.”

Before that, during the opening night of The Off-Season Tour in 2021, Drake had similar praise for Cole while hitting the stage as a special guest.

“I want you to understand something,” the OVO boss told the North Carolina native. “You are without a doubt one of the greatest rappers to touch a mic. I wanna let you know, there’s way too many people in the world that think and know J. Cole is at the top of the pole position.

“I love you with all my heart, you’re my brother, you’re one of my favorite artists and I appreciate you having me out here.”

More recently, it was announced that Drake and J. Cole are gearing up to hit the road together for a joint tour, It’s All a Blur — Big As the What?, which was scheduled to start this month but has since been pushed back to early February.

The co-headlining trek comes on the heels of two blockbuster collaborations between the rap stars: the chart-topping “First Person Shooter,” from Drake’s For All the Dogs, and “Evil Ways,” from the album’s Scary Hours deluxe edition.
