DaBaby Proving Evasive In Lawsuit Involving DaniLeigh’s Brother

DaBaby has been dodging the service of process in a lawsuit filed by DaniLeigh‘s brother, who is petitioning the court to instead allow him to pursue what’s known as substituted service.

According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, Brandon Bills (real name Brandon Curiel) hired a public investigator to track down the 32-year-old, though his efforts were unsuccessful.

He further claims that process servers have tried to furnish the papers to the rapper in his home state of North Carolina as well as his California, where he now lives — in both cases, they were unable to find him.

For that reason, he is now proposing that the court allow him to publish the lawsuit in the local paper instead as he was unable to serve the MC personally. As of now, a judge has not yet ruled on the motion.

Back in January, a Los Angeles bowling alley named Corbin Bowl filed an answer denying any wrongdoing alleged by Bills, who is currently suing the venue and the “Suge” rapper for damages stemming from a fight that took place there back in February 2022.

He is seeking an unspecified amount in damages based on the allegation that staff members present during the altercation had a duty to protect him from the assault, though the alley maintains that they were under no legal obligation to do so.

DaniLeigh Avoids Jail Time Over DUI Hit & Run But Lawsuit Still Looms

If a judge rules in Corbin Bowl’s favor, the legal responsibility for the lawsuit will fall squarely on DaBaby’s shoulders.

The incident in question involved the “Rockstar” hitmaker and his entourage getting violent with Bills, who was left bloodied and slipping down the lanes. In footage of the ordeal, the rapper can be seen throwing the first punch at the defendant.

After Bills collapses to the ground, Baby’s crew surrounded him and began throwing punches, leaving him with several noticeable cuts and bruises on his face.

Police later investigated the incident and looked to charge the rapper with assault with a deadly weapon, though he maintained that his actions were the result of self-defense. When Bills refused to cooperate with authorities in the criminal case, the investigation came to a halt.

He did, however, file a civil lawsuit against DaBaby, demanding “unspecified damages” for “physical and psychological damage” as well as coverage for his medical expenses.

The altercation occurred months after Bills expressed that he was upset at the way things went down when DaBaby and DaniLeigh broke up. The tension between the former couple culminated in a heated argument soon following their split, due to which she was charged with assaulting the rapper back in 2021.
