The students of Children’s International school (CIS) Junior and Senior School, Lekki, have shined at the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), Music Festival 2024 in Bahrain.

The three-day competition designed to bring together students from all over the world to celebrate music, saw participation from over thirty schools, with representatives from South America, Asia, and Europe taking part.

The CIS students competed in a wide range of categories, including classical vocal, contemporary vocal, solo strings, electric guitar, and vocal ensemble. The performances of the students were outstanding, with two vocalists receiving special mention in the judges’ feedback.

The CIS choir performed brilliantly, presenting their rendition of ‘The Rhythm of Life’ from the musical ‘Sweet Charity.’ Their performance at the grand finale earned them the title of winners in the keenly contested vocal ensemble category, bringing well-deserved international recognition to CIS, and the trophy to Nigeria.

At the reception ceremony in Nigeria, the School Director, Mrs. Adejoke Chukwumah, the principal and school heads congratulated the Music students and their outstanding teachers for this remarkable achievement.
