BTS superstar Jung Kook has officially embarked on his solo journey, and in just over a week, he has already made an indelible mark with his single “Seven.” The song’s release was met with immense excitement from fans, quickly propelling it to become a massive hit for the talented singer. But it’s not just the track’s success on streaming platforms and download stores that is turning heads—Jung Kook’s accompanying music video for “Seven” has now earned the prestigious title of being the biggest in the world, according to YouTube.
The visual masterpiece of “Seven” launches with huge numbers on YouTube, ranking at the top of the company’s weekly chart of the most-viewed videos globally. In just the first seven days of its availability, the music video amassed a staggering 83.3 million views, catapulting it far ahead of any competitors. For perspective, the runner-up on the global chart during the same period, Myke Towers’s “LaLa,” secured 37.9 million views—less than half of what “Seven” achieved.
The massive success of “Seven” is even more apparent when considering that another version of the music video, labeled the official performance video, also debuted inside the top 10. This secondary upload impressively secured the seventh spot on YouTube’s weekly global chart with 16.1 million views. Both versions of “Seven” feature rapper Latto, who deserves credit for contributing to the song’s triumph alongside Jung Kook.
With such an overwhelming number of views garnered by the different “Seven” videos, it comes as no surprise that the track has been opening high on music charts around the world. Already it has achieved top 10 starts on multiple global rankings, including in the U.K., Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand, among others.
In the highly competitive American music landscape, “Seven” is poised for a historic and impressive debut on the Hot 100 songs chart. The track’s entry point, whether it be at No. 1, 2, or 3, will depend on how it fares against its closest competitors during the tracking period. Notable challengers like Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” and Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town” are vying for the top spot, creating an exciting race for chart supremacy, but Jung Kook’s YouTube performance, paired with high sales and massive streaming sums, may be enough to give him a chart-topper.
