Today on World Cafe, we’re bringing you the music of AMERICANAFEST 2023. The music festival in Nashville featured more than 200 artists, and we’re excited to share a few of these performances taped at Sound Stage Studios.

First up, Brandy Clark has written songs for some of country music’s biggest names, from Kacey Musgraves to Reba McEntire to Keith Urban, but on her latest album, Clark was writing for herself. Brandy Clark features guest appearances from Derek Trucks, Lucius, and Brandi Carlile (who also produced the album).The record was just recently nominated for five Grammy Awards, including Best Americana Album.

Then, we have a set from Tommy Prine. His father, as you might guess, is John Prine. It was only recently Tommy Prine started sharing his songwriting and performing. His debut album, This Far South, came out earlier this year. It was produced by Ruston Kelly and Gena Johnson.
