Girl group Blackpink’s music video for “Ddu-du Ddu-du” (2018) surpassed 2.1 billion views on YouTube, becoming the first song from a K-pop artist to do so.

The feat came Sunday afternoon at 4:27 p.m., five years and one month after the song first dropped on June 15, 2018, according to the band’s agency YG Entertainment.

“Ddu-du Ddu-du” had been one of the band’s most popular songs online, gaining traction for its catchy music and choreography since day one. It was the lead track of the quartet’s first EP “Square Up” released in 2018, and the song became the most-watched K-pop music video that year.

Blackpink has 90.3 million subscribers to its YouTube channel, the highest number not only in K-pop but for any artist in the world. It has 43 videos with over 100 million views, and all views combined on its content surpassed 32.4 billion.
