Azerbaijan to host 13th Gabala International Music Festival

Azerbaijan will host the 13th edition of the Gabala International Music Festival from July 27 to August 2.

Organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation with the support of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture and dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the Festival will bring together renowned musicians, performers, conductors and music ensembles from Azerbaijan, the United Kingdom, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Türkiye.

The Festival’s solemn opening ceremony will kick off with the “Viva Opera” concert, which will feature the performances of Honored Artist Eyyub Guliyev, soloists of the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibayli, including People’s Artists Dinara Aliyeva (soprano), Avaz Abdullayev (baritone), Samir Jafarov (tenor), Yusif Eyvazov (tenor) as well as Honored Artist Sabina Asadova (mezzo-soprano).

Held since 2009, this year’s edition of the Festival will feature interesting programs for music lovers, with classical, chamber music and mugham evenings to be organized during the week.

The festival will also include special musical programs marking the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijani renowned composer Arif Malikov, 95th anniversary of well-known pianist Bella Davidovich as well as the 150th and 190th anniversaries of genius composers Sergey Rachmaninoff and Johannes Brahms.
