The organisers of a new music festival set to tour Australia’s east coast later this year have said it will go ahead with “alterations”.
Rumours about the possible cancellation of Pandemonium Rocks — a new rock festival featuring acts including Blondie, Alice Cooper and Wheatus — began to circulate last week after a number of featured acts removed the festival from the lists of forthcoming shows.
Deep Purple, Wolfmother, Dead Kennedys and Cosmic Psychos do not have the festival linked on their websites. None have commented on this publicly.

When asked by 7NEWS.com.au if these acts had dropped out and would simply be replaced, Pandemonium organisers did not respond.
Festival organisers previously blasted the rumours in a post on social media, saying the event has not been cancelled and tickets were still on sale.
Days later, organisers turned off comments on its posts.
“Putting on a multi-city festival of this scale and calibre is no small feat, and the Pandemonium festival team has spent months putting their blood sweat and tears into creating a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience that reaffirms Australia as a top-tier music destination on the international tour schedule, in what is an incredibly difficult market,” organisers said.
Organisers confirmed the festival would be going ahead on Tuesday.
“While there might be upcoming alterations, we can assure you that our festival dates remain in place,” they said.
“Finalising festival logistics has taken longer than anticipated. We expect that in the next 48 hours we will be sharing an update with complete information.
“We appreciate your concerns, rest assured our focus is centred on bringing to all the best event possible.”
This is not the first time the festival has faced alterations, after its Sydney venue was changed earlier this year.
The festival was originally scheduled to go ahead at The Domain on Anzac Day, clashing with the annual march.
The venue was then changed to Cathy Freeman Park in the Sydney Olympic Park Precinct.
Other stops on the tour include Caribbean Gardens in Melbourne, Doug Jennings Park on the Gold Coast and the Sandstone Point Hotel just outside Brisbane.
The uncertainty comes amid a series of festival cancellations, including Splendour in the Grass this week and Groovin The Moo in February.
