Celebrate the summer one last time at the Athens Community Arts and Music Festival, set for 11:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m. Saturday on West Union Street in Athens.
The Athens Community Arts and Music Festival provides live music performances, a variety of local and regional artists, and educational activities from local arts organizations that create a sense of discovery and community for diverse audiences of all-ages and backgrounds.
Casa Cantina will host a pre-event party at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Cost is $8. the concert is scheduled to include Millcreek Mile, Snail Satan, HouseGuest, Coralilly and Drawknife.
The free festival is open to the public and kid friendly. It will be ASL interpreted.
Legendary Ohio rockers, Guided By Voices headline this year. Other performers include Brainiac, Shilpa Ray, The D-Rays, Lung, Heather Redman & The Reputation, Gardener, Laughing Chimes,The McGovern Brothers, Swing Big, Adam Remnant, Ivy Pierce, Exit 191, and Another Language Altogether.
Besides the music, stop by the art and food vendors or learn about some of the area’s various nonprofits.
