André 3000, Black Thought, and Sampha have all been announced as part of the all-star lineup for the We Out Here festival.

NME is reporting that the annual festival, which is set for August 15 to August 18, will take place in the seaside county of Dorset, in the village of Wimborne St. Giles. The festival, which is spearheaded by DJ and record label owner Gilles Peterson, is touted as an “award-winning weekender” and will also feature performances by Louie Vega, Corrine Bailey Rae, and Dee Dee Bridgewater.

“We at @weoutherefest are overjoyed to share our most wide-spanning programme yet; threading together some of the world’s most important musical pioneers, emerging talent, and some incredibly special performances,” Peterson said on his Instagram post announcing the lineup, which he made on Thursday (February 1).

He continued: “Still much more to be announced, plus the much-loved Lemon Lounge, Love Dancin, Brawnswood & Hennessy Corner back with us, family & wellness programme, the Talks Tent, Record Store, lake swimming, to make for a truly unforgettable weekend.”

It’s not yet clear whether André 3000 will perform some of the well-known hits from his OutKast days, or whether his performance will entail just performing tracks from his critically acclaimed New Blue Sun, remains to be seen.

However, at least one rapper would love nothing more than to see the “old” Three Stacks onstage: Tony Yayo, who recently told Vlad TV that he wants nothing more than to see the Atlanta MC “spit.”

According to Yayo, New Blue Sun didn’t hit the way it should have because fans of the rapper — including himself — were expecting to hear some classic OutKast-style raps.

“It is brilliant, when you think about it, because everybody who promoted it wants to hear him rap,” Yayo said of André. “When it comes to Atlanta rap, he’s one of the artists to really cross over. […] He was just different.”

After Vlad shared that he thought New Blue Sun was “trash,” Yayo stopped short of agreeing with the controversial interviewer, but opined: “Nobody wants to hear André 3000 play the flute. But it’s art. And like you said, people are going to respect it, and people are going to have an opinion. But we want to hear him spit.”
