JOHANNESBURG – The Senzo Meyiwa trial continues to haunt Kelly Khumalo as the afro-pop singer is dropped from the lineup of yet another music festival.
This is the second event that cancelled her appearance in one week.
A few days ago, organisers of the ‘Tribute to Women’ concert announced she would not be performing at an upcoming event, amid shocking testimony at the Meyiwa murder trial.

Cellphone analyst Lambertus Steyn testified that a phone linked to Khumalo received calls from a number linked to one of the men accused of killing the Bafana Bafana captain months before her boyfriend was shot.
While the Maseru Jazz Festival admitted the singer had not been charged with anything, the organisers believed the legal processes needed to play out first.

Meanwhile, Meyiwa’s close friend Mthokozisi Thwala is still on the stand as defence lawyers try to poke holes in his testimony about the timeline of the murder.
