Spring is here and with the upcoming holiday quickly approaching it’s time to make your plans for those precious days off! There are a number of music festivals taking place with everything from jazz to hip-hop lineups with major local and international artists. 

Here are the details for four of the bested festivals happening in Beijing to help you schedule your party calendar:


Yuanqi Forest Music Festival

Celebrate the May holiday by heading out to Beijing Laffitte Castle Park. This festival will feature an eclectic group of performers with a focus on rock, folk, indie, alternative and punk artists, but there will also be a few pop and synth-pop acts.

Here are a couple of the big acts performing at the festival:

Cui Jian, is a mainland Chinese rock singer, director, screenwriter and actor, and is known as the “Father of Chinese Rock.” In 1986, he opened the era of Chinese rock music and has received numerous awards for his singing and songwriting.

Cheng Xiao is a female singer, actress, dancer and former member of WJSN. She started dancing at the age of five and debuted in Korean entertainment with excellent flexibility and appearance. After returning to China, she appeared in a variety of film and television productions.

Infinite Music Festival

The newly upgraded third edition of the Infinite Music Festival will be a fusion of music performances, trendy art, and an interactive market.

The first day of Infinite will be mainly rock music with performances from artists like Hui Chun Dan, Jin Wenqi, and Penicillin. The second day of the festival will primarily feature rappers and hip-hop artists with popular acts such as Ai Zhiheng Asen, Ice Paper, and Knowknow taking the stage.

Ticket prices vary based on the area of festival, which will take place at Central Green Forest Park in Beijing Municipal Administrative Center – not a far journey to make to hit up a music festival in Beijing!

2025 Strawberry Music Festival

Modern Sky has hosted over 150 Strawberry Music Festivals and is going all out this year with four stages, 72 performances and over 20 international acts.

Bands like Otyken, Doudou and Shanghai Restoration Project are among musicians who have held large-scale concerts, including Yoga Lin, Chen Li and Chen Chusheng, will join the festival this year

The Modern People Flea Music Market will provide an interactive space for festival goers to enjoy hands on music making activities and shop for records and books.

5th Taihu Jazz Festival

The Taihu Jazz Festival a collaborative effort between the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), the Jazz Society of the Chinese Musicians’ Association (CMA), and the Beijing Contemporary Music Academy. The festival has grown significantly each year, attracting numerous jazz ensembles and a large audience.

More than 200 Masters of Jazz and up-and-coming musicians from nine countries will perform together during at the Taihu Stage Art Centre of the National Centre for the Performing Arts. 

Seven overseas jazz bands, 14 Chinese top-level bands, one Latin jazz dance troupe and over 30 outstanding youth bands will bring more than 100 performances on seven stages.
