Salah El-Din Citadel Music Festival
The 31st edition of the Salah El-Din Citadel International Festival for Music and Singing will kick off on Friday, August 25.
The festival will open at 08:00 PM and will continue for 14 consecutive days. It concludes on Thursday, September 7.
It is organized by the Cairo Opera House, headed by Dr. Khaled Dagher, and held in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
In a statement, Dagher revealed that the upcoming edition takes on a new approach that aims to present serious creative colors that suit the tastes of different age and social groups.
The festival consists of 45 diverse performances, including Egyptian and Arab musicians presenting shows for the first time.
The lineup features many prominent singers such as Simone, Hany Shaker, Walid Toufic, Nadia Mustafa, Ali El Haggar, Hisham Abbas, Medhat Saleh, Ghalia Benali, Nesma Mahgoub, Faia Younan, Lena Chamamyan, and Rock band Wust El-Balad.
It will also feature performances by musicians such as Omar Khairat and Hisham Kharma.
In addition to performances by international troupes in cooperation with the Foreign Cultural Relations Sector.
The festival will hold two consecutive concerts at the El-Mahky theatre and a third at the open-air theatre.
Moreover, 5,000 seats were placed and Stage LED screens were set up for the event to further enhance the viewing experience of attendees.
The Salah El-Din Citadel International Festival for Music and Singing is one of the well-established and most important events organized by the Ministry of Culture.
Since its foundation in 1990, the festival has succeeded in achieving huge popularity due to the diversity and richness of its artistic program.
