21 Savage recently confirmed that he has new music cooking, and a series of new billboards suggest that we’re not far from it.

On Wednesday (December 20), locals in Atlanta began noticing giant signs of an altered Star-Spangled Banner with the stripes changed to black, blue and red; and the number of stars trimmed down to 21.

Upon taking a closer look, many noticed that the stripes featured ATL-inspired animation. Among them was a cartoon of the “No Heart” hitmaker, leading many to deduce that fresh material from him is around the corner.

According to journalist Andrew Barber, who shared photos of the mysterious billboards via Twitter, the artwork is a collaboration between 21 Savage and renowned visual artist Hebru Brantley.

During a show last month, 21 Savage told those in attendance that they will be getting their hands on a new album very soon. In late November, the Slaughter Gang spitter sold out the O2 Arena for his first-ever headlining performance in London after securing permanent citizenship in the United States earlier this year.

Amid a star-studded night that included cameos from Central Cee, J Hus and more, he also promised that his first solo album in nearly five years is set to drop.

21 Savage’s last solo album, I Am > I Was, arrived in December 2018. The LP, which spawned the hit single “A Lot,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 131,000 album-equivalent units.

He hasn’t been inactive since then either as he released two joint albums: 2020’s Savage Mode II with Metro Boomin and, more recently, Her Loss with Drake last November.

The latter helped keep the Southern rapper in rotation on streaming services this year, as he secured the No. 11 placement on Spotify’s list of most streamed artists in the world for 2023.

While no other details about the new album have been revealed, 21 was spotted shooting a video in London last month, which could could very well be a part of the project.

In a clip shot in South London’s Brixton district, he was spotted with a biker gang riding around with him.
