“Meet … Roxanne Duncan,” launched the Snowmass Villager in 1968. “When somebody asks vocalist Roxanne Duncan if she does any ‘soul music,’ she replies, ‘Each track I do is soul music.’ Her followers within the space, who’ve been listening to her sing since she labored her first skilled engagement on the Pink Onion in Aspen in 1963, and who loved her renditions of previous requirements, ballads and love songs this 12 months at Cyrano’s and The Twig at Snowmass, wouldn’t argue the purpose. Roxanne has been singing all her life and actually grew up surrounded by the music. Her mom, Louise Duncan, a pianist with a big following who now performs at Stromberg’s, first performed on the Pink Onion in 1952 with such jazz greats at Billie Vacation, Ray Brown and Oscar Peterson.”
